In fall, 2009, Da Vinci moves to the
Valley Oak campus on 8th Street. Sharing the Davis High School (DHS)
campus for five years built a strong foundation, but we've grown and need our
own space to truly promote our identify.
The move to Charter School status creates significant opportunities
for our students, including:
- Funding: additional
revenue will pay for technology; a new internship program, site renovations,
teacher training and increased student activities.
- College Courses: We
will continue to offer Sac City College courses, giving students the
opportunity to earn college credit while fulfilling their high school
graduation requirements.
- Comprehensive Curriculum:
Classes that were formerly available only through DHS (science, language,
etc.) will be taught at Da Vinci. A full spectrum of elective will still be
available to Da Vinci students either through Da Vinci, DHS, or Sac City,
based on student interest.
Students interested in classes only
offered at DHS will be to co-enroll at both schools. Every effort will be made
to arrange class schedules so student needs will be met. Students may also
participate in DHS sports, dances and other events.
